Barone made an appearance in the fourth season Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham a chef who wanted Elaine Benes shoes. She was a member of the cast from Carol & Company in early 1990s, alongside actress Carol Burnett. Barone performed the role of Carol Willick Ross Geller in her debut Friends episode. She also played her ex-wife Carol Willick Ross Geller. Jane Sibbett replaced her after she quit to accept the full-time role. She appeared in The Jeff Foxworthy Show in the initial season (from 1995 to 1996) as well as in The War at Home between 2005 until the year 2007. Barone was co-starring with Daddio in 2000.
